Local Companies Respond To DaVinci Fire

Checking the roof and second floor Saturday at DaVinci’s Pub in Collegeville

QUICK KNOCK-DOWN OF DAVINCI FIRE – Volunteers from the Perkiomen and Skippack fire companies were among those who responded in mutual aid Saturday (Aug. 6, 2016) to a mid-afternoon fire reported at DaVinci’s Pub, 215 E. Main St., Collegeville. The Collegeville Fire Company said Montgomery County dispatchers reported a mulch fire, which began after 3 p.m. at the base of the restaurant’s front porch, appeared to have spread on a porch pole up to the building’s second floor. That prompted firefighters to tear off part of the roofing material and check beneath for any further damage. Collegeville declared the situation under control within minutes. It also was assisted by crews from Trappe and Lower Providence. The restaurant, on its Facebook page, thanked patrons and first responders “for all the outreach of concern” over the event. It was open and in operation for Saturday evening’s dinner business.
