HARLEYSVILLE PA – Lower Salford hopes Montgomery County will help improve some of its sidewalks.
Its Park Board, scheduled to meet Tuesday (Jan. 24, 2017) at 7 p.m. in the municipal building, 379 Main St., expects to learn more about a township quest to fund “pedestrian improvements,” according to its agenda. Board members will hear details of a grant application submitted under this year’s “Montco 2040 Implementation Grant Program.”
The township is asking for $109,809 to install sidewalk along Park Avenue, and improve or upgrade walkways at the intersections of Kulp and Gruber Roads, and Kulp Road and Park Avenue, the agenda indicated.
The board meeting is free to attend and open to the public. A copy of its agenda is available for download from the township website, here.
Also Tuesday, the board anticipates:
- Electing members to fill the offices of chairman, vice-chairman and secretary, and to acknowledge reappointment to 5-year terms for Mary Ann Harris and Tom Klaus by the Board of Supervisors;
- Reviewing the Planning Commission agenda for its Wednesday (Jan. 25) meeting;
- Hearing updates about a recent visit with the Natural Lands Trust at Bergey Park; receiving an update on the rain garden project at Bucher Park being created with the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy; learning about a Public Works Department plan to replace pavers and do repairs this spring at Heckler Plains Farmstead; and discussing timeline, light and sponsorship items for the update at Park Avenue Field.
The board’s next meeting is planned for Feb. 28, also at 7 p.m. in the municipal building.
