Conservancy Presents Native Plant Sale In May

Native plants being grown for the conservancy’s May 13 sale

WORCESTER PA – Ready for spring? Join the staff of the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy for a native plant sale May 13 (2017; Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic Peter Wentz Farmstead, 2030 Shearer Rd.

Follow signs to the main parking lot, and then walk to the sale location to buy regionally-appropriate plants grown at Behmerwalds Nursery, and also get some free expert advice on how to keep your garden healthy. After making your purchases, walk over to the historic area to learn about similar plants and their uses during the 1700s.

Native plants use less water, require less work, and provide year-round interest and benefit to wildlife. The sale will provide buyers with expert advice, free native gardening information, and a great variety of native vines, ferns, shrubs, trees, flowers, and grasses for sale.

The farmstead will also have a make & take sachet project for those that venture into the historic area to learn more about the site and uses of plants in the past.
