Township Engineer Honored As 'Chamber Star'

PHOENIXVILLE PA – Cedarville Engineering Group LLC, the company that serves as engineer of record for Lower Frederick Township, and its chief executive officer April Barkasi were honored Wednesday (April 26, 2017) by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce as two of its four “Chamber Stars” for 2017. The awards were presented during the chamber’s 90th anniversary dinner at the RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve, 100 Golf Club Dr.

Barkasi won as the chamber’s volunteer of the year, and the Pottstown-based company she heads was named as the chamber’s enterprise of the year. Additionally honored were the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board as nonprofit organization of the year, and Russell Lowe of Fraser Advanced Information Systems as chamber ambassador of the year.

Also publicly recognized were former chairmen of the chamber Board of Directors: Howard Kalis III (1978), David Specht (1990), Scott Detar (1997-1998), Brad Okoniewski (2008-2010), and Heather Chandler (2014-2016).
