Police Charge Township Man In Alleged Assault

LOWER FREDERICK PA – A 52-year-old Lower Frederick resident has been arrested after he allegedly beat a woman with a baseball bat.

Lower Frederick Police Chief Paul Maxey reports James Douglas Wilson has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of simple assault, one count of possessing an instrument of crime, and one count of recklessly endangering another person.

Officers were called Saturday (June 10, 2017) to Wilson’s home in the 100 block of Colonial Drive following a Montgomery County dispatchers’ report of an assault. The female victim, who made the call, was found on the floor of the home as police and medical personnel arrived. She had incurred “substantial” multiple injuries that required immediate attention, according to the chief.

Specifics of her injuries were not released, nor were details about her identity.

A Plymouth Ambulance crew attended to the victim as police investigated. They later identified Wilson as the suspect, and also determined he fled the scene before their arrival. The department called out to neighboring departments within the county for assistance in locating Wilson. He was taken into custody by Plymouth Township police.

Wilson was arraigned in the Gilbertsville courtroom of Magisterial District Justice Maurice Saylor, and jailed in the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Eagleville PA. Bail was set at $10,000.
