Paving, Bridge Reviews To Slow Valley Traffic

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Drivers traveling portions of Route 29, Route 73, and Schwenksville Road next week may encounter three different project zones along those highways that will require them to slow down and be cautious, and could create delays, the King of Prussia regional office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said in separate announcements.

Paving operations. Lane restrictions with 15-minute stoppages are scheduled Monday through Friday (Aug. 21-25) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the intersection of Route 29 and Route 73 in Skippack Township. Loftus Construction Inc. of Cinnaminson NJ is the general contractor.

Bridge inspections. Inspections are part of PennDOT’s program to examine bridges at least once every two years for overall condition and safety. Lane closures due to bridge inspections are scheduled:

  • Monday (Aug. 21) from 8-11 a.m. on Schwenksville Road between Route 29 and Park Avenue in Perkiomen Township; and
  • Monday (Aug. 21) from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on westbound Route 73 between Route 29 and Haldeman Road, also in Perkiomen.

In all cases, drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Slowdowns will occur, PennDOT said. Work schedules depend on the weather.
