Pennsburg ‘Gives Back’ To Hurricane Victims

Pennsburg 'Gives Back' To Hurricane Victims

FROM PENNSBURG TO TEXAS, WITH LOVE – Three trailer loads of goods donated by dozens of area residents (at top and below) were packed during the brightly sunny and hot hours of Labor Day (Monday, Sept. 4, 2017) at the Pennsburg headquarters of the Upper Perkiomen Police Department, and then driven down to Texas to help victims of hurricane-and-tropical-storm Harvey. They should arrive there before week’s end, the department said on its Facebook page, and proudly claimed the effort reflected the region’s “generosity and hard work.” Besides all donors, the department also singled out Pennsburg Borough Councilman Cody Belmont, Pennsburg Mayor Vicki Lightcap, Pennsburg firefighter Jay Miles, Pennsburg Councilman and Perkiomen School representative Bob Seville, the Merkel Family, Trumbauer’s Lawn and Recreation, and LifeSpan School & DayCare staff and families for special recognition.
