Perkiomen Firefighters Help Battle Farm BlazeFIGHTING FIRE IN SPRING CITY – Perkiomen Fire Company volunteers were among those who responded early Wednesday morning (Oct. 25, 2017) to a fire (at right) that at times seemed to engulf portions of large buildings on a farm at 259 Ridge Road, Spring City. Philadelphia television station WTXF, which had a helicopter overhead and live-streamed more than 8 minutes of video footage of the incident, reported it had seen firefighters “going in through the roof in an attempt to try to contain the flames.” No injuries were reported. Also responding to the scene were Ridge, Liberty, Spring City, Royersford, Limerick, Valley Forge, and Linfield fire companies; West End Ambulance, and Friendship Ambulance. The blaze took about two hours to get under control. Pennsylvania State Police and Chester County fire marshals are investigating the cause.
