COLLEGEVILLE PA – The coffee that keeps you awake may also help fill someone else’s stomach, according to Dunkin’ Donuts franchise restaurants across southeastern Pennsylvania. Their sixth annual “Roast Hunger” fund-raising effort began Friday (Nov. 24, 2017) and continues through Dec. 31 (Sunday).
When Dunkin’ patrons buy a large hot coffee with its branded loyalty card, the restaurants will donate 50 cents of the price to a fund that benefits five regional food banks: Philabundance, Food Bank of Delaware, Food Bank of South Jersey, Greater Berks Food Bank, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania.
In western Montgomery County, many local food banks are part of the Philabundance network; and in eastern Berks County, of the Greater Berks Food Bank. Dunkin’ expects to raise about $100,000 in its efforts this year. Locally, restaurants are located in Harleysville, Collegeville, and Oaks.
