PV, Other Area Schools Delay Wednesday Opening

COLLEGEVILLE PA – Inclement winter weather affected all five area school districts Wednesday (Jan. 17, 2018), as they announced delayed building openings. The Perkiomen Valley, Pottsgrove, Pottstown, Boyertown, and Spring-Ford Area districts said their doors would open later than usual.

In Perkiomen Valley: Schools and offices will operate on a two-hour delay. So too is the North Montco Technical Career Center; its morning session was canceled for PV students. Kindergarten students will follow a modified schedule, with morning kindergarten attending from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and afternoon kindergarten attending from 1:30 to 3:15 p.m.

In Pottsgrove: The district’s call for a two-hour delay affects administration of high school mid-term exams. A revised mid-term schedule is available here. ROTC and Pottsgrove attendance at the Western Montgomery Career and Technology Center were canceled due to testing.

In Pottstown: The district reported it was “operating on a 2-hour delay … for all students and staff.” It reminded parents that “breakfast is not served on a 2-hour delay,” and also said it canceled the Rupert walking school bus activity.

In Boyertown: Schools and offices will operate on a two-hour delay. Kindergarten will operate on a modified schedule. There will be no AM BCTC. All transportation services will operate on a two-hour delay.
